HPV vaccine is available. The quadrivalent vaccine targets HPV types 6 and 11 , which cause 90% of genital warts.Primary target for the vaccine will be children prior to sexual activity.Women who are already sexually active can also receive the vaccine. The quadrivalent vaccine provides 100% protection against persistent HPV 6,11,16,18 and HPV 16/18-related CIN.Girls and women between ages 9 and 26 should be recommended for vaccination - ideally before the onset of sexual activity ,but women who are already active should also be vaccinated because they may not have been exposed to all the HPV types that the vaccine protects.
